Meet The Owners

Chris and I grew up with dachshunds at one time or other and while we have had other breeds of dogs, and mutts, over the years we kept coming back to dachshunds. The standard longhair variety in particular. At a field trial we were visiting we saw a black & tan dapple pup and fell in love with that color/pattern.

In 2005, with the help of Kaye Middler, we found our Dazzle, a longhair, black and tan dapple female. As you might have figure out by now, she was the inspiration for my grooming salon name and our dachshund name.

All our dogs go to some obedience classes and I have achieved a Companion Dog title with an Airedale Terrier. Chris never cared about obedience, rally or agility. But since we were getting involved with field trials, earth dog and tracking, I was finally able to get Chris interested in dog events.

So in the 2007 we were searching for another longhaired, dapple standard; not an easy task as dapples are not very common right now in standards. Again with the help of Kaye, who had by now become a friend, we were able to locate Lucy.

Both our girls are field pointed and enjoy earth dog work. We play with tracking and blood trailing, but are lacking the time to be more serious about these venues at this time.

Additionally we had decided that we wanted to try out conformation shows too. If everything turns out as expected, we will try our hand at breeding a few litters in the future.

In closing let me say that all our dogs are our cherished pets before anything else.
